Práce se zabývá původem, vývojem a funkcí Candomblé v rámci dějin a kultury Brazílie. Snaží se zachytit změny jeho vnímaní většinovou společností, jeho význam pro otroky a později i pro brazilskou společnost.This thesis deals with the origins, evolution and role of Candomblé in the context of brazilian culture. It attempts to describe the changes in the perception of the major society and its meaning to slaves and later to the whole brazilian society.
