Bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá vnímáním neznámého v knize Michaela Endeho Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer. Po stručné charakteristice dětské literatury a přiblížení osobnosti Michaela Endeho následuje teoretická část objasňující pojem "fremd", který bychom mohli přeložit jako cizí, či neznámý. Na základě získaných teoretických znalostí se práce pokouší vyhledávat a analyzovat místa, kdy se hlavní postavy příběhu střetávají s neznámými situacemi nebo lidmi.Bachelor diploma work deals with the perception of the alien and unfamiliar in the book of Michael Ende Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer. After a brief characteristics of the children and juvenile literature and the author´s clarification there follows a theoretical part explaining the term "fremd", that could be generally used or translated as "unknown, unfamiliar". Based on the theoretical hypotheses that had been collected the diploma work tries to find and analyse the places where the main characters meet the unknown situations or people.
