Diplomová práca sa zaoberá problematikou športového eventu so zacielením na konkrétne bežecké podujatie Medzinárodný maratón mieru v Košiciach. Cieľom tejto práce je zistiť profil aktívneho účastníka Košického maratónu, jeho úroveň bežeckej tréningovej prípravy a mieru spokojnosti s podujatím a službami spájajúcimi sa s Košickým maratónom. Hlavný výskum bol realizovaný počas priebehu bežeckého podujatia formou dotazovania, kde výskumnú vzorku tvorilo 292 aktívnych účastníkov v disciplínach maratón, polmaratón a štafeta. Výsledky preukázali, že sa tohto podujatia zúčastnili prevažne rekreačný bežci, vo všetkých vekových kategóriách s relatívne aktívnym životným štýlom. Výsledky taktiež potvrdili, že aj napriek dlhotrvajúcej tradícii tohto podujatia záujem o toto podujatie stále narastá a lojálnosť bežcov navštevujúcich Košický maratón je vysoká.This thesis deals with the issue of a sports event with the aim on specifical running event which is the International Peace Marathon in Košice. The aim of the thesis is to find out a profile of an active participant of the Košice Peace Marathon, his level of running training preparation and his satisfaction rate of the event and services connecting with the Košice Peace Marathon. The main research was realized during the running event through answering where 292 active participants were engaged in the research sample in marathon, half marathon and relay. The results show that mostly recreational runners participated in this competition in all age cathegories with an active lifestyle. The results also confirmed that even though it has had a long-standing tradition the interest in this event is still rising and the runners loyalty participating in the Košice Peace Marathon is high.
