O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a temática do feminino na obra da escritora Paulina Chiziane, a primeira mulher moçambicana a publicar um romance no seu país. Para tal objetivo o trabalho enfoca duas obras que representam marcos importantes na carreira literária de Chiziane, em concreto Balada de amor ao vento (1990), o seu primeiro romance, e o romance Niketche: uma história de poligamia (2002), reconhecido pela crítica como a sua obra prima. O trabalho se concentra na representaçao literária da posiçao das mulheres na sociedade em Moçambique, mulheres que experimentam uma situaçao de tensoes entre duas culturas uma originária de África e a outra imposta pela história colonial do país.The purpose of this work is to analyze the motif of the feminine in the works of the writer Paulina Chiziane, the first Mozambican female writer who published a novel in her country. For this purpose, the thesis focuses on two works that represent important milestones in Chiziane's literary career, namely Balada de amor ao vento (1990), her first novel and Niketche: uma história de poligamia (2002), acknowledged by critics as her masterpiece. The thesis focuses on literary representation of the position of women in the Mozambican society, who are put into a tense situation between two cultures the original, African culture and the other imposed by the colonial history of the country.
