Na základě analýzy vybraných děl císaře Juliána a jeho současníků chceme na dané téma přinést pohled zbavený pozdějších legend. Budeme se zabývat dopisy císaře Juliána, jeho spisem Proti Galilejským a listem Athénské radě a lidu. Dále budeme analyzovat dílo Ammiana Marcellina, Řehoře z Nazianzu, Libania, Eutropia, Rufia Festa a sv. Jeronýma.. -- Abstract: This work deals with the relationship of Flavius Claudius Iulianus, to whom the Christian historians gave a nickname the Apostate, to Christianity. Based on the analysis of selected works of the emperor Julian and his contemporaries, we want to bring a new view, free of later legends, on this topic. We will be dealing with letters of the emperor Julian, his tract Against the Galilaeans and letter To the senate and people of Athens. Furthermore we will analyze the work of Ammianus Marcellinus, Gregory of Nazianzus, Libanius, Eutropius, Rufius Festus and St. Jerome.
