Od roku 1989 je v České republice zaznamenáván zřetelný pokles počtu uzavřených manželství. Hovoří se dokonce o krizi manželství. Význam manželství nijak dramaticky neklesá, avšak tato instituce je (ve své dřívější podobě) svým způsobem na ústupu. Lidé obecně odkládají manželství, vstupují do manželství později a zvyšuje se počet těch, kdo manželství odmítají a volí raději některou z alternativních forem partnerského soužití. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí. První část je zaměřena teoreticky. Snaží se přiblížit výše zmíněné trendy ve sňatkovém chování po roce 1989 v České republice. Druhá část je věnována menší výzkumné sondě. Klade si za cíl zachytit názory zkoumaných osob na tuto problematiku. Výzkum prokázal, že ačkoliv se názory na manželství a trendy ve sňatečnosti liší vzhledem k věkové kategorii respondentů, tak rozhodně nelze jednoznačně říci, že manželství je přežitou a zastaralou institucí.Since the year 1989 is registered the clear decline number of the marriages. Actually we talk about a crisis of the marriage. The marriage value still does not dramatically fall off, although this institution in the early form is in a way on the regress. People get married later, they postpone the marriage and the number of the people who refuse the marriage and choose the partner common life is getting higher. My diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is target on the theory. I tried to clear up the modern trends in the marriage manners after the year 1989 in the Czech Republic. The second part is target on the proffesion. It is based on the sociological research. The purpose of this research was take down of the opinions of the respondents on this problems. The research has been proved that although the opinions and trends on the marriage vary in their age categories of the respondents, we can not tell explicitly that the marriage is outlived and antiquated institution.
