Nalezneme zde historický vývoj trestných činů proti životu a zdraví a jejich ústavněprávní uchopení v České republice. Stručně pojednává o vývoji jejich ochrany na mezinárodní a komunitární úrovni a blíže specifikuje zásadní pojmy celé této problematiky - počátek lidského života a jeho konec včetně pohledu na téma eutanázie.Stať této diplomové práce se věnuje platné právní úpravě trestných činů proti životu a zdraví, je zde i srovnání s předchozí právní pravou těchto trestných činů a srovnání se slovenskou právní úpravou.V příloze najdeme grafy počtu trestných činů proti životu a zdraví a vývoje trestné činnosti v této oblasti z let 2005 - 2009, zpracované na základě Ročenek kriminality Ministerstva spravedlnosti.. -- Abstract: This dissertation looks closely into the concept of the protection of life and health in Czech criminal law. We can find here the historical development of criminal offences against life and health and their constitutional significance in the Czech Republic. It speaks briefly about the development of the protection of life and health on the international and community level and specifies closer the main terms of the issue - the beginning of the human life and its end including the viewpoint on euthanasia. The body of this dissertation addresses the valid legal regulations of criminal offences against life and health, there is also a comparison with the previous legal regulations of these offences and a comparison with Slovak legal regulations. In the appendix we can find graphs of the number of criminal offences against life and health and the development of criminal offences in this area from the years 2005 - 2009, which were processed based on the Annual Almanacs of Criminality of the Ministry of Justice.
