Stručný obsah: Magisterská diplomová práce se zaměřuje na genezi a možné perspektivy vývoje vztahu Švýcarské konfederace a Evropské unie v kontextu pokračující ekonomické a politické integrace dnešní Evropy, v níž se země dlouhodobě angažuje formou bilaterálních kontaktů. Na základě analýzy předchozího vývoje i současné situace práce formuluje základní hypotézu, podle níž Švýcarská konfederace v střednědobém horizontu do Evropské unie nevstoupí, z důvodu vysoké míry názorové rozpolcenosti obyvatelstva i politické reprezentace v otázce další integrace země.This degree thesis focuses on the developments and perspectives of a possible future course of relationship formation between the Swiss Confederation and the European Union, particularly with regard to the ongoing long-term process of political and economic integration in Europe, wherein Switzerland has steadily been involved by means of numerous bilateral agreements. Based on an analysis of previous developments and current political programs, the thesis formulates its primary hypothesis by stating that, despite a number of pro-integration tendencies within the country, Switzerland?s accession to the European Union is unlikely to take place in a mid-term horizon, the main reason being significant discord on the matter within the population and the country?s political leadership alike.
