Práce je rozdělena do několika částí, ve kterých se postupně věnuje tématům vykořenění a samoty, následuje autorčin život v kontextu její doby. Další část se zabývá realitou života na Haiti. A nakonec přichází rozbor děl Adieu mon frere, Apres la danse a Le briseur de rosée.. -- Abstract: The purpose of this master thesis is to analyze the motive of exclusion and solitude in the works of Edwidge Danticat. The thesis is divided into several parts, in which it gradually addresses the themes of exclusion and solitude, followed by the author's life in the context of her time. The next part deals with the reality of life in Haiti. And finally, there comes the analysis of the works Brother, I'm Dying, After the Dance, and The Dew Breaker.
