Disertační práce tematizuje jazykovou zdvořilost v češtině a ve francouzštině. Kontrastivně zaměřená práce popisuje nejčastější zdvořilostní formule u základních mluvních aktů v češtině a ve francouzštině a mapuje a hodnotí možnosti jejich vzájemného překládání. V rámci disertační práce bylo podrobeno analýze šest zkoumaných zdvořilostních kategorií, z nichž každá představuje určitý mluvní akt: pozdrav, oslovení, rozloučení, poděkování, výzva, omluva. Pro každou z uvedených kategorií jsem stanovila základní jazykové realizace v češtině a ve francouzštině, které jsem následně podrobila kontrastivní analýze. Zdrojem dat je v této práci česká a francouzská část digitálního paralelního korpusu InterCorp. Součástí práce je dotazníkové šetření provedené v České republice a ve Francii, jehož výsledky představují hodnocení zkoumaných jevů rodilými mluvčími českého a francouzského jazyka. Výsledky dotazníku jsou porovnány s výsledky korpusové analýzy. V teoretické části práce jsou formulována základní východiska výzkumu zdvořilosti s důrazem na zdvořilost při interkulturní komunikaci. V této části práce rovněž blíže specifikuji aplikaci pragmaticky orientovaných lingvistických teorií, jež zdůrazňují nepřímou realizaci ilokučních aktů coby charakteristický rys zdvořilostních projevů. Praktická část zahrnuje vedle vlastní analýzy metodologii výzkumu včetně popisu použitého korpusu a provedeného dotazníkového šetření. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty základní rozdíly v realizaci vybraných zdvořilostních jevů v češtině a ve francouzštině a dále jsou hodnoceny možnosti jejich vzájemného překládání. Na základě této evaluace a se zohledněním výsledků dotazníku jsou stanoveny překladatelsky problematické jevy.The thesis discusses politeness in Czech and French. The contrastive study describes the most frequent expressions of politeness used within the basic speech acts in the Czech and French language, and defines and evaluates the ways in which they can be translated. The present research focuses on six fields of politeness representing six basic speech acts: greetings, address terms, saying goodbye, saying thanks, requests, and apologies. For each field of politeness in Czech and French, I created a primary corpus of polite expressions and subsequently carried out a contrastive analysis. In the present thesis, the data were gathered from the parallel corpora InterCorp. The research includes an interlinguistic questionnaire survey carried out in the Czech Republic and France is included in the thesis. The results of this survey showing the assessment of polite phrases by native speakers of either Czech or French are confronted with the findings of the contrastive analysis. Theoretical chapters of the thesis define the key features of linguistic research in politeness, emphasising politeness in cross-cultural communication. Theories focusing on linguistic pragmatics are thus applied in the present research to accentuate indirect realization of illocutionary acts as a characteristic feature of polite discourses. Practical chapters comprise the methods of the present research, including the description of the digital parallel corpus InterCorp and designing questionnaire survey, and the results of the analysis. Specifically, the analytical part discusses cross-cultural differences in terms of polite discourses in Czech and French language and evaluates the ways of translating polite expressions examined. The results of the contrastive analysis are confronted with the results of the questionnaire survey to identify and characterize in detail potential translation problems between French and Czech.
