Ve své bakalářské práci se budu zabývat anglickým lékařem Timothie Brightem (asi 1550 - 1615) a jeho vrcholným dílem, A Treatise of Melancholie, Containing the cavses thereof, et reasons of the strange effectsit worketh in our minds and bodies: with the phisicke cure, and spirituall consolations for such as haue thereto adioyned an afflicted conscience. Zaměřuji se především na patologii melancholie v kontextu medicíny 16. století a její léčbu, které Timothie Bright ve svém díle věnoval rozsáhlý prostor.In my bachelor thesis I will examine english early modern physician Timothie Bright (probably 1550 - 1615) and his masterpiece, A Treatise of Melancholie, Containing the cavses thereof, et reasons of the strange effectsit worketh in our minds and bodies: with the phisicke cure, and spirituall consolations for such as haue thereto adioyned an afflicted conscience. My focus is primarily on pathology of melancholy in context of 16th century medicine and its treatment which Timothie Bright dedicated an extensive space within his work.
