Autorka vytvořila pět subtestů obsahujících zvukové podněty v podobě padesáti dvojic statických trojzvuků, čtyřzvuků a pětizvuků. Úkol respondentů spočíval v posouzení shodného či rozdílného zvukového účinu. Proměnnými byly věk, poloha (zpěvná a nezpěvná), druh harmonie (těsná, smíšená) a úroveň hudebnosti respondentů. Obdržené výsledky empirického šetření potvrdily platnost principu harmonické inverze u vybrané skupiny studentů daného věkového rozpětí 15 až 22 let.The dissertation deals with perception and mental processing of consonance and dissonance for static chords presented in the basic form and their turnovers. It focuses on the research of sensitivity for consonance and the degree of dissonance in harmonic inversion which was primarily developed by the music theorist, composer and pedagogue Karel Janeček (1903-1994). An overview of the processing of the issue of consonance and dissonance is given in the theoretical part especially from the point of view of music theory and music psychology. In the context of the theoretical part, there is a Janeček´s fundamental creative contribution to solve not only problem of consonance and dissonance, but also a number of important areas of music theory with the international context. The aim of the research was to empirically confirm the validity of the principle of harmonic inversion on a selected set of participants. This research was implemented by 346 students of four secondary schools in the Czech Republic in the age from 15 to 22 years. The research focused on finding out how or under what conditions a certain group of respondents fulfills the principle of harmonious inversion. Five tests were designed by the author of this dissertation. These five tests consisted of chords which contain three, four and five tones. Participants should identify the same or different sound effect in the 50 pairs of chords. Variables were the age of participants, a singing and non-singing position of the chords, a kind of harmony (close and mixed) and if the participants were musicians or non-musicians. The results of our empirical research confirm the validity of the principle of harmonic inversion in a selected group of students in the age from 15 to 22 years.
