Obě skupiny, experimentální i kontrolní, celkem tvořilo 39 respondentů. The diploma thesis deals with influence of techniques for the development of mindfulness on alexithymia and anxiety. The theoretical part describes the concept of mindfulness, aspects of mindfulness and its relations with mental health and therapy. The next part is dedicated to the issue of alexithymia and anxiety. The ambition of the study was to compare the level of alexithymia and anxiety in respondents before and after the eight-week mindfulness development program. We also compared the level of alexithymia and anxiety in the experimental group, which participated in the program and the control group. For these comparisons, we used the questionnaire for measuring anxiety and scrupulosity (STAI X-1 a STAI X-2) and questionnaire for measuring alexithymia (TAS-20). The research was carried out in the form of a comparative quasi-experiment and lasted for 8 weeks, during which we taught the respondents selected techniques for the development of mindfulness, which they then had to practice every day. Both groups, experimental and control, consisted of a total of 39 respondents. The results showed that in the experimental group there was a decrease in the scale of alexithymia and at the same time there was a decrease in anxiety and scrupulosity at a high level of significance. Furthermore, the results showed that the reduction on alexithymia and anxiety was more significant in the experimental group than in the control group, which did not participate in the program.
