Překladu písňových textů nebyla na rozdíl od jiných oblastní translatologie až do nedávné doby věnována valná pozornost. Práce představuje pohledy nejvýznamnějších teoretiků na tuto problematiku. Praktická část práce se zaměřuje na americký seriál Simpsonovi a zkoumá, jak překladatelé této série přistupovali k písňovým textům, konkrétně zda překladatelé zachovávají při překladu písňových textů spíše smysl, nebo zda je jejich cílem, aby výsledný text v cílovém jazyce zněl přirozeně. Práce rovněž zkoumá poměř přeložených a nepřeložených písňových textů a zda je rozhodnutí píseň přeložit ovlivněno kontextem.. -- Abstract: This thesis is concerned with the topic of translation of lyrics, specifically the translation of lyrics in the American animated series The Simpsons. In the past, the topic of song translation was not researched as thoroughly as other topics in translation theory. However, in recent years more and more researchers show interest in this topic. This thesis presents the theories on song translation written by several well-known researchers. The practical part of the thesis analyzes the approach to song translation in the Czech version of the Simpsons. The practical part also aims to answer the question of whether the translators were more concerned with meaning or whether they rather wanted the song to sound natural in the target language. The thesis also analyses how many songs were translated and if the decision to translate them was affected by context.
