Various supportive therapies have been used together with pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy of depressive disorder. Supportive therapies mainly include expressive techniques (music therapy, art therapy), but also other activation techniques (memory therapy, cogni-tive training, relaxation). The main therapeutic goals they follow are encouragement of creativity and self-coreing, focusing attention and developing positive feedback. This work tries to find out what patients themselves expect from activation techniques and also what benefits these techniques provide them from their perspective. It also looks for conditions that are important for patients to be actively involved in therapy. The results of the work show that in the life of an individual with depressive disorder, activation techniques are of the utmost importance in managing anhedonia and filling in time. Thus, these techniques in the overall treatment fill a gap that cannot be covered by pharmacotherapy. The work also shows what can be focused on in the future in further streamlining supportive therapies for patients with depressive disorder. These are factors influencing the involvement of patients and their motivation, as well as the actual implementation of some techniques, especially less popular ones. It further suggests that further therapeutic goals can be formulated in the future with the aid of supportive techniques, such as focusing on activity planning, overcoming barriers, or taking over responsibility.
