This work entitled UAV photogrammetry and methods of image analysis in agriculture experiments is focused on the evaluation of the usability of data from aerial photogrammetry, specifically on the processing of images taken by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) using photogrammetric methods and methods of image analysis. The application area of the research work is the area of field experiments and small-plot experiments. For the needs of this study, the affordable UAV system DJI Phantom 4 Pro was used to obtain aerial photographs in the area of Centrum regionu Haná pro biotechnologický a zemědělský výzkum, located in Holice, Olomouc. In the season of the year 2019, several research fields with wheat, barley and garlic were photographed. In June 2020, another flight was taken together with a reference measurement, in which crop heights were measured manually in order to be able to compare them with the derived heights from the models and thus evaluate the accuracy of the methods used. The acquired aerial photographs of agricultural crops were processed by photogrammetric methods into three-dimensional dense point clouds. These point clouds were used to derive digital surface models, orthophoto images and tree-dimensional mesh. The resulting point clouds were filtered and then classified into terrain points and other points. Terrain point clouds were used to create Digital terrain models. Canopy height models were derived from the resulting digital terrain models and digital surface models. Then selected canopy height metrics were calculated by dividing created canopy height models into created regions of interest. Vegetation indices based on the transformation of RGB bands were calculated from the created orthophoto images. The values of vegetation indices were also recalculated into created regions of interest, which represented mutually comparable areas allowing to evaluate whether there are any relationships or dependencies between calculated canopy height metrics and vegetation indices. Part of the work was devoted to finding a suitable algorithm for automatic detection of wheat ears using image analysis of RGB photos. At the end of the work there was an evaluation of the created products, used methods and the potential of UAV images for use in agriculture.
