Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na tsunami a ochranu obyvatelstva proti událostem tsunami. V první části jsou popsány základní pojmy tsunami, vznik, výskyt a základní vlastnosti tsunami. Dále se zabývám popisem vybraných tsunami ve světě, jejich příčinami, průběhem a následky. Ve druhé části se zabývám ochranou obyvatelstva před tsunami, což zahrnuje prevenci, varovné systémy, informovanost obyvatelstva a ochranné stavby.The bachelor thesis is focused on tsunami and civic defense against tsunami events. The first part describes the basic concepts of tsunami, origin, occurrence and basic characteristics of tsunami. Next I deal with description of selected tsunami in the world, their causes, course and consequences. In the second part I deal with the civic defense against tsunami, which includes prevention, warning systems, population awareness and protective buildings.
