(179 904) : tab. + 1 CD ROM. -- Ved. práce Dan Marek. -- Abstract: Tato práce je koncipována jako komparativní případová studie protiteroristických politik USA a EU po teroristických útocích z 11. září 2001. Základní premisou práce je, že politiky států se formují na základě jejich identit. Identita je utvářena historickým kontextem a zkušenostmi států. Cílem práce je zjistit, co ovlivnilo formování identit USA a EU před 11. zářím a jak jej útoky případně ovlivnily. Dále pak jaký vliv má identita na protiteroristické politiky USA a EU. Teoretickým základem práce je sociální konstruktivismus doplněný o koncept moderní a postmoderní identity států podle Roberta Coopera. Práce se také zabývá zhodnocením a porovnáním strategických přístupů USA a EU v boji proti terorismu, kterými jsou válka proti terorismu a boj proti terorismu. Analýza a komparace reakcí na 11. září a protiteroristických politik USA a EU probíhá primárně na základě projevů amerických a evropských státníků a strategických dokumentů.. -- Abstract: This thesis is conceived as a comparative case study of counter-terrorist policies of the US and the EU after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. The basic premise of the thesis is that national policies are formed on the basis of their identities. The identity is shaped by historical context and experinces of states. The aim of the the study is to determine what influenced the shaping of identities of the US and EU before 9/11 attacks and how the identities may have been affected. Furthermore how identity affects the counter-terrorist policies of the US and the EU. The theoretical basis of the thesis is social constructivism complemented by the concept of the modern and postmodern identities of states introduced by Robert Cooper. The strategic approaches of the US and the EU in the fight against terrorism are also evaluated and compared. These approaches are global war on terror and fight against terrorism. The analysis and comparison of the response to 9/11 attacks and counter-terrorist policies of the US the EU is primarily based on the speeches of American and European statesmen and strategic documents.
