Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá otaku kultúrou v Českej republike. Práca je rozčlenená do dvoch rovín, na časť teoretickú a časť empirickú. Časť teoretická je predovšetkým úvodom do otaku kultúry. Zahŕňa historický exkurz a niektoré z dôležitých prvkov otaku spoločnosti. Ďalej sa zmieňuje o českých otaku komunitách na internete, ich činnostiach a možnostiach, ktoré ponúkajú. Empirickou časťou tejto práce je môj vlastný kvalitatívny výskum. Ten vznikol na základe rozhovorov s členmi tejto komunity, po ktorých nasledovala analýza a interpretácia dát. Kvalitatívny výskum je zameraný predovšetkým na ich prvý kontakt s fenoménmi anime a manga, a či považujú samy seba za "otaku". Zahŕňa tiež gendrové rozdelenie komunity v minulosti a dnes a vplyv príslušnosti k otaku na ich spoločenský život.The thesis focuses on otaku culture in the Czech Republic. The work is divided into two levels, on the theoretical and the empirical. The theoretical part is mainly an introduction to otaku culture. It includes historical excursions and some of the important elements of otaku. Furthermore, it mentions the Czech otaku communities on the Internet, their activities and what they offer to their members. The empirical part of this work is my own qualitative research. That was based on the interviews with members of the community, followed by an analysis and interpretation of data. Qualitative research is focused primarily on their first contact with the phenomenon of manga and anime, and whether they consider themselves as "otaku". Also it includes the gender division of the community in the past and today and the impact of belonging to the otaku in their social life.
