Výsledky a závěry: Ve srovnání s populací měli všichni respondenti signifikantně snížené všechny dimenze smysluplnosti i osobní nezdolnosti. Background: Until now we were missing unifying research study detecting relationship between life meaningfulness and personal resilience among alcohol addicted people in the Czech Republic. Theoretical background of this thesis is Längle's existential theory of meaningfulness, A. Antonovsky's theory of personal resilience and international alcohol level questioner AUDIT. Objectives: This dissertation is focused on better understanding of relationship between meaningfulness, personal resilience and level of alcohol addiction among alcohol addicted patients from mental hospital in Kroměříž. Methods: ESK and SOC 29 questioners, personal questioner on personal information, semi-structured interview, modification of lifeline technique and rating scale. Sample: 111 respondents took part in this study. All of them were treated with alcohol addiction and were hospitalized in mental hospital in Kroměříž. There were 80 men and 31 women in the sample. 18 respondents took part in the interview. Results and conclusion: Compare to general population, all the respondents showed significantly lesser dimensions in meaningfulness and personal resilience. It was significantly apparent that meaningfulness rises with growing level of personal resilience. It wasn't confirmed that meaningfulness and personal resilience declines with growing level of alcohol addiction. All respondents who took part in interview were able to talk about their values and they experienced meaningful periods in their life.
