The aim of this bachelor theses is to introduce various ways of using algebraic identities when solving problems in elementary mathematics. The theses is divided in three sections. The first one serves as a small introduction to the theory of algebraic expressions. The second chapter deals with identities with a maximum degree of three. The final chapter is dedicated to algebraic identities of higher degree, more specifically the binomial theorem and the Binet-Cauchy identity
