(86 338 znaků). : grafy, tab. + 1 dotazník, 1 CD. -- Ved. práce Marie Sandersová. -- Oponent Ondřej Klabal. -- Abstract: Tato bakalářská práce popisuje podstatu tlumočnické a překladatelské profese, jejich společné i rozdílné znaky a vzájemné působení. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Teoretická část se zabývá podstatou práce překladatele a tlumočníka, jejími nejobtížnějšími aspekty a odlišnými nároky na výkon v obou profesích. Je zde také velmi stručně shrnut historický vývoj obou profesí, charakteristické osobnostní a povahové rysy profesionálního překladatele a tlumočníka jakožto poskytovatelů jazykových služeb.Cílem praktické části bylo zjistit, jak vnímají svoji profesi překladatelé a tlumočníci v České republice a především zda souhlasí s tvrzením, že profesionální tlumočník může být zároveň kompetentním překladatelem, ale profesionální překladatel schopným tlumočníkem ne. Výzkum byl prováděn pomocí dotazníkového šetření v rámci profesních překladatelských a tlumočnických organizací ASKOT a JTP. Odpovědi respondentů byly analyzovány a přehledně prezentovány pomocí grafů. V poslední kapitole jsou shrnuty poznatky z dotazníkového šetření a jsou z nich vyvozeny závěry.. -- Abstract: The aim of this study is to identify and summarise the differences and similarities in interpreters and translators occupation to assess the validity of a statement that a professional interpreter can be at the same time a competent translator, but a professional translator can not be at the same time a competent interpreter. The thesis consists of two parts. Theoretical part provides the introduction to the topic which is concerned with the characteristic of interpreters and translators occupation, its challenges, similarities and differences. It also contains a brief description of historical development of both professions their demands and requirements for performance. The practical part pursues to ascertain how interpreters and translators in the Czech Republic perceive their occupation, what problems they encounter with, what aspects they consider as the most challenging and principally to assess the validity of a statement that a professional interpreter can be at the same time a competent translator, but a professional translator can not be at the same time a competent interpreter. The survey was conducted within two major organizations of interpreters and translators in the Czech Republic ASKOT and JTP. An online questionnaire form was used in this research. The questionnaire was created in Google disc application and distributed to members of the aforementioned organisations via email. Their answers were individually analysed and presented. In the last chapter the findings are summarised and the conclusions are drawn.
