Jednotlivé kapitoly skúmajú rôzne aspekty danej problematiky, počnúc otázkou jazykovej a kultúrnej identity, štatistikami ohľadom počtu a schopností nositeľov jazyka či rozsahu jeho využitia, až po situáciu v školstve, aktivitu inštitúcií či súvisiace kultúrne udalosti. Zároveň odhaľujú faktory, ktoré dnešnú jazykovú situáciu spôsobili. Na záver naznačujú aj najnovšie trendy, vyhliadky do budúcnosti či naďalej pretrvávajúce prekážky.. -- Abstract: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine the current situation of the Catalan language in the Northern Catalonia, i.e. in the department Pyrénées Orientales, or the Roussillon area. The individual chapters deal with various aspects of this issue, such as the question of cultural and linguistic identity, surveys concerning the number of speakers, their capacity and the extension of the language, as well as the educational system, the activity of several institutions and a few related cultural events. They also reveal the factors that caused the current linguistic situation. Finally, they indicate the latest trends, future perspectives and remaining problems.
