Snaží se vysvětlit a porovnávat, jakým způsobem je tento jazyk přijímán a užíván obyvateli těchto států. Jsou zde shrnuty poznatky o území Baskicka, jeho obyvatelích, kteří jsou mluvčími baskičtiny. Stranou nezůstává ani popis samotného jazyka z hlediska lingvistického, teorie o jeho původu, dialekty a aplikace jazyka ve školství. Práce se dotýká i pohledu na baskickou literaturu, média a postoje vůči jazyku ze strany obyvatel Baskicka.. -- Abstract: The thesis describes the situation of the Basque language which is minority language in the territory of France and Spain. The work tries to compare the form how the language is accepted and used by inhabitants of these countries. There are summarized the knowledges about territory of Basque country and her inhabitants who are the speakers of the Basque language. It contains also description of language from the point of view linguistic, theories about his origin, dialects, bilingualism and application of Basque language in education. The thesis presents also the perspective of Basque literature, media and the opinions of people from Basque country about Basque language.
