Teoretická část obsahuje pojednání o autorce a jejím díle, kde jsou definovány charakteristické prvky poetiky románu, od nichž se odvíjí strategie a následně metody překladu. Samotný komentář k překladu je rozdělen podle lingvistických rovin textu, v nichž jsou vysvětlovány a dokládány jednotlivé aplikované překladatelské postupy.. -- Abstract: The aim of this work was to create an adequate translation of selected chapters form the novel Ladder of Years by Anne Tyler. The theoretical part contains chapters about the author and her novel, the poetics of which is being defined. The translation strategies, from which the methods are derived, are set on the basis of the style of the novel. The commentary to the translation is structured according to the linguistic levels, in which I explain and demonstrate the individual translatological transfers applied in the translation.
