The aim of the overview bachelor's thesis was to summarize the current researched published knowledge about the quality of life with chronic heart failure from the perspective of patients and their closest relatives. Relevant documents for the creation of theoretical foundations were searched in electronic databases EBSCO, Medline complete, PubMed and Ovid. The work is divided into three sub-objectives. In the first objective, we focused on the perception of the quality of life with chronic heart failure from the patient's point of view. Patients experience negative emotions such as stress, anxiety, depression or fear. These factors are also reflected in their self-care and, together with physical factors, worsen their quality of life. The second objective focuses on caregiver burden when caring for a patient with chronic heart failure. Providing care to a sick family member is very mentally and physically demanding. The disease in question affects all members of the family, not just the patient himself. Caregivers take over the responsibilities of the sick person along with caring for him at the expense of their own duties, goals and life values. If they do not receive appropriate support, they may experience a deterioration in their health or burnout. In the third aim, we focused on nurse-led interventions. Cooperation with the medical staff is very important so that the caregivers do not feel alone in their care. Findings presented in the bachelor's thesis can help medical personnel to better understand patients with chronic heart failure and their caregivers. The work may also help general nurses and nursing students to find new knowledge to improve the care of patients with chronic heart failure.
