Práce se zabývá srovnáním románu Karla Poláčka Bylo nás pět s jeho televizní adaptací z roku 1994. Její první kapitola má teoretické zaměření a řeší otázku, jak přistupovat k adaptaci jako takové, druhá je věnována předloze a úvaze nad motivací k adaptování právě tohoto románu. V následujících kapitolách je provedeno srovnání románu se seriálem ve čtyřech kategoriích - časoprostor, způsob vyprávění a dějové linie, postavy a motivy a komika. Cílem práce je poukázat na rozdíly mezi předlohou a adaptací a zároveň se je pokusit zdůvodnit a ukázat, jakým způsobem se jejich vlivem proměňuje vyznění díla.This thesis deals with comparation of novel by Karel Poláček There Were Five of Us with its TV adaptation from year 1994. The first chapter is focused on theory and solves question, how we can understand adaptations, the second chapter is focused on the original novel and on the motivation to adapt just this book. In the next chapters, the novel is compared with the adaptation in four cathegories - space and time, narration and storylines, characters and motives and humour. The goal of thesis is demonstrate the differences between the novel and the adaptation and also show, how it changes the meaning.
