Tato práce se zabývá otázkou zobrazení dítěte a dětství v jednotlivých typech literatury římského období od 3. stol. př. n. l. do 2. stol. n. l. Zabývá se přístupem autorů k dětství a zachycení obrazu dítěte v souvislosti s literárními pravidly, funkcemi a účely díla. Prezentováni jsou nejvýznamnější autoři daného typu literatury a jejich díla, jež jsou vždy představeni v první části každé kapitoly,po které následuje vlastní rozbor dochovaných pramenů. Zastoupeny jsou žánry poezie, satiry, filosofie, osobní korespondence, dramatu, historiografie, encyklopedické a naukové literatury a křesťanství.This thesis deals with the question of the image of a child and childhood in various types of literature in the period from 3rd century BC till the 2nd century AD. It deals with the autohors' attitude towards childhood and their picturing of a child with consideration of the literary rules, functions and purposes of the writings. The most significant authors and their works (both introduced in the fisrt part of eachh chapter; this part is then followed by the analysis of these historical sources) are represented in this work. This thesis examines the genres of poetry, satire, philosophy, personal correspondence, drama, historiografy, encyclopedical and instructive literature and the New Testament.
