The pelvis is a very important part of the human body, also being referred to as ?the crossroads? which is affected by all the abnormalities of the musculoskeletal system. At the same time, any unbalance in the pelvis causes dysfunctional movement habits of the whole body. The results of many different studies have confirmed that a weakened gluteus maximus muscle is a problem not only in the sick, but in the healthy population as well. At this point, there are no studies focusing on a long-term facilitation of the gluteus maximus muscle. The aim of this study was to assess the influence of a one-time and a two-month exercise oriented on the facilitation of gluteus maximus during an extension in the hip while lying on the abdomen in people with the lower crossed syndrome. The activity of the muscles was measured using the multichannel surface electromyography (SEMG) device Myosystem 1400A. The first measurement of the hip extension stereotype was done at the beginning of the exercise-examining procedure. In this measurement, the amount of time till the activation onset of the studied muscles was recorded. The second measurement was performed after a one-time exercise focusing on gluteus maximus muscle facilitation. Afterwards the person examined was exercising for two months three times a week, each time for twenty minutes. The whole procedure was completed by the third measurement. There was a statistically significant difference found in the gluteus maximus muscle activation times after the one-time and the two-month exercise.
