The main objective of this master thesis is to deal with orthogonal regression which seems to be the most suitable regression tool in case of dealing with compositional data. The only relavant information in these data is contained in ratios between parts. So-called linear regression models with type II constrains can be used. Confidence regions and hypothesis testing can be constructed because of additional assumptions of normality. Last but not least, there are included examples with real data in the master thesis, the first one examines structure of land in 27 membership states of the European Union. The second one deals with radio listening figures across districts of the Czech Republic.
