The main purpose of this bachelor task is a complex description of the decadence as one of the movements in Polish literature in the end of the 19th century, in the era of the Young Poland, both from a position of literature, philosophical and socialogical way. We can see what the Polish decadence was converted from and mainly how it was expressed practically. The main ideas and philosophical movements affecting decadents are adumbrated as well as the masters of this literature. The main aspect of this work is in a search and a description of the pivotal decadent demonstrations and themes in the poem Koniec wieku XIX by kazimierza Przerwy Tetmajera and 1st and 2nd series of his Poetry as well as in Dies Irae and the cycle Giacemu światu by Jan Kasprowicz and then looking for rarities, connections and differences between both of the poets, in the practical section. We can find lots of decadent themes and so it is possible to declare that their sorting among poets of decadence is true. It is also important to mention that not only some identical themes were found in their work (though differently conceived) but there are also motives which they were looking at unlikely. Tetmajer more nihilisticly, while there is catastrophism overbearing in Kasprowicz.
