Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na obávanou akutní komplikaci - hypoglykémii a s tím spojenou kvalitu života pacientů u chronického onemocnění diabetes mellitus. Teoretická část práce sumarizuje dosavadní poznatky týkající se DM, hypoglykémií, kvality života. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jak hypoglykémie a strach z nich ovlivňují jednotlivé oblasti kvality života. Empirická část prezentuje výsledky kvantitativního sběru dat pomocí dotazníkového šetření. Byly použity standardizované dotazníky Hypoglycemia Fear Survey (HFS), Audit of Diabetes Dependent Quality of Life (ADDQoL), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). Výzkumného šetření se zúčastnili dospělí pacienti s DM, kteří navštěvovali edukační diabetologická centra v Olomouci a v Ostravě nebo kteří se zúčastnili online dotazníku. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo celkem 127 pacientů s DM.The diploma thesis focuses on the dreadful acute complication - hypoglycemia and the associated quality of life of patients with a chronic metabolic disorder, the diabetes mellitus (DM). The theoretical part of the thesis is summarizing the current knowledge about DM, hypoglycemia and the quality of life. The aim of the study is to find out how hypoglycemia and fear of the disease affecting individual areas of life of patients suffering from diabetes. The empirical part presents the results of quantitative data collected through a questionnaire survey. In the survey the following standardized questionaries were used: Hypoglycemia Fear Survey (HFS), Audit of Diabetes Dependent Quality of Life (ADDQoL), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). The research survey involved adult patients suffering from DM who have been attending the educational diabetes centres in Olomouc and Ostrava or who participated in an online questionnaire. The research group consisted of a total of 127 patients diagnosed with DM.
