Cílem této práce je analyzovat beletristické dílo Josefa Thomayera, v němž se prolínají jeho dva velké zájmy, a to jak beletrie, tak také přírodní vědy. Jeho dílo se pokusím charakterizovat, přestože není sourodé ani obsahem, ani žánrovým zařazením. Práce je rozdělena na 6 kapitol. V první z nich se věnuji životu Josefa Thomayera a jeho pamětem (memoárům), v dalších kapitolách následuje rozdělení jeho literární tvorby dle tematických celků a žánrů. Druhá kapitola představí přírodní obrázky, třetí črty, kde se Thomayer zabývá lidskými charaktery, čtvrtá se věnuje vzpomínkám na Thomayerovy slavné přátele, v páté jsou charakterizovány jeho pozorování z cest po vlasti a návštěv cizích zemí a v šesté kapitole popularizační lékařské články.The goal of this bachelor thesis is to analyze belletristic production of Josef Thomayer, in which his two main interests are blending together, and these are imaginative literature and natural sciences. I try to characterize his production altough it is not congenial in it´s contents neither in it´s literary genres. This thesis is divided into 6 chapters. In the first chapter I concentrate on Josef Thomayer´s life and his memoirs, in following chapters comes division of his production according to thematic units and genres, which means nature pictures, sketches where he concentrates on human temper, remembrance of his famous friends, observations from his visits of his native country and foreign countries and popularizing medical articles.
