The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a prosodic analysis of a recorded text from a textbook called "Úvod do hovorové čínštiny 2" written by Oldřich Švarný and his colleagues in 1967. The analysed text consists of exercises 35-37, which contain 187 sentences. For the purpose of prosodic analysis, the analysed text is transcribed into prosodic transcription and also into Chinese characters. For a better understanding of the text, all individual sentences are also translated into Czech language. This thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The first part of this bachelor thesis explains terms related to the issue of prosodic division of Chinese language, such as a linear division of sentences, a rhythmical segmentation of sentences and the seven degrees of prominence that are key to this work. In the following practical part, the text is subjected to analysis, which determines and quantifies its prosodic characteristics, for example analysis of sentences and their division into rhythmic units, hierarchization of prominence of syllables within these units, and mutual hierarchy of stressed syllables. In addition to that, a speech speed of analysed recordings is determined. The final part of this thesis deals with a summary of results of the prosodic analysis as well as with the quantitative analysis of the selected text. This thesis has come to following results. The analysed text consists of 187 sentences, which are further divided into 663 segments and 2052 syllables. The most frequent rhythm sequence within the segments is a sequence of one-act descending. The most common types of kólons are single-segmental kólons. Within the position at the beginning or inside of the kólon, the most frequent sequence is descending, and in the position at the end of the kólon, the most productive sequence is acronymic.
