Cílem této práce je zkoumat způsob užívání pojmu kýč v českém literárněkritickém diskurzu v období od konce 19. století do roku 1945. První část této práce stručně seznamuje čtenáře s několika - v českém prostředí vlivnými - pojetími kýče zahraničních i českých teoretiků. Druhá část pojednává o počátcích pojmu kýč v českém myšlení a sleduje jeho užívání v mimoliterárním kontextu. Následně se práce zaměřuje na koncept kýče v českém literárněkritickém diskurzu. Práce přináší poznatky o tom, jakou funkci měl pojem kýč v námi sledovaném kontextu, kterými kritiky a z jakých důvodů bylo pojmu kýč užíváno a jaká literární díla byla pojmem kýč označována.The aim of this thesis is to analyse the use of the term kitsch in Czech literary criticism from the end of the 19th century up to 1945. The first part of this thesis introduces with some - in Czech environment influential - Czech and foreign conceptions of kitsch. The second part deals with the beggining of the concept of kitsch in Czech thinking and persues its use in other discourses. After that the thesis is focused on the concept of kitsch in Czech literary criticism. The thesis provides findings about what was the term kitsch function in the stated context, which critics used the term kitsch, why they used the term and which literary works were termed kitsch.
