Tato práce se zabývá historií japonského žánru kaidan. Celá práce je rozdělena do třech kapitol. V první kapitole se věnuji vysvětlení významu slova kaidan z hlediska sémantického. Druhá kapitola pojednává o historii žánru kaidan od nejstarších zmínek až po současnost. U každého období japonských dějin jsou ukázky, které reflektují trendy v psaní hrůzostrašné literatury. Ve třetí kapitole se zabývám současnou euro-americkou hrůzostrašnou literaturou v kontrastu s japonskou hrůzostrašnou literaturou.This thesis attempts to describe the progress of kaidan genre from the beginning in Heian era to the present time. It is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with the meaning of the word kaidan. On this opportunity definitions from two different Japanese dictionaries are presented. The second chapter describes the history discourse of kaidan genre from the beginning in Heian era to the present time. Each era is presented with an important literary work and descriptions of kaidan elements within it are provided. This chapter also shows the diversity of kaidan genre. The third chapter focuses on modern Euro-American horror stories and examines the difference between them and the Japanese kaidan genre.
