Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit, jaké postavení má v současné společnosti obecní policie. Předmětem teoretické části bylo analyzovat právní předpisy a odbornou literaturu upravující postavení, povinnosti, oprávnění a úkoly obecní policie a posoudit, zda jsou dostačující k tomu, aby mohla být tato složka vnímána jako veřejně prospěšná.. V praktické části bakalářské práce byl zjišťován postoj občanů k instituci městské policie na území statutárního města Olomouc. Ke sběru dat byla použita metoda dotazníku.The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to chase up the position of municipal police in present-day society. The matter of the theoretical part was to analyse laws and specialized literature concerning the position, duties and authorities of municipal police. It also tries to consider if the previous mentioned are sufficient to understand this element as public beneficial. The practical part of the thesis tries to chase up the attitude to the municipal police of the citizens in the city of Olomouc. To get the information it was used the method of questionnaire.
