In this bachelor thesis an overview of the functions and dysfunctions of the diaphragm is presented. The diaphragm as the main inspiratory muscle does not involve only respiratory functions. Together with other muscles it is also forming deep stabilitation system, when together they provide postural functions, but also cardiac, gastroesophageal and other functions. If there is a restriction of innervation or weakening of the diaphragm, dysfunction occurs. For selected diseases that cause diaphragmatic dysfunction the options of physiotherapy intervenctions are presented.
