V teoretické části je nastíněn výzkum učebnic i vizuálních prvků. Dále jsou shrnuty poznatky o funkcích a významu vizuálních prvků a několika klasifikačních systémech vizuálních prvků. V praktické části je podrobná analýza vizuálních prvků, je u nich určován typ, míra abstraktnosti, míra souvislosti vizuálního prvku s textem a výstižnost popisku vizuálních prvků.. -- Abstract: The aim of this thesis is to analyze visual representations in 9 science textbooks for the 8th class of the elementary school. The theoretical part deals with the research of textbooks and visual representations. Furthermore, this thesis summarizes the knowledge of functions and meaning of visual representation and several classification systems of visual representations. In the practical part includes a detailed analysis of visual representations (the type, the degree of abstraction, the degree of connection between the visual element and the text, and the aptness title of the visual reprezentations).
