Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje rozboru půstu v kontextu kulturní antropologie. Má charakter teoretické práce a zásadou pro vypracování je práce s českou a cizojazyčnou literaturou. V první části bakalářské práce se věnujeme obecnému chápání půstu jako náboženského a společenského fenoménu, rozebíráme, jak k němu přistupují jiné vědní disciplíny, konkrétně historická antropologie a antropologie náboženství. V této části také vysvětlíme historicko-antropologické rozdíly a souvislosti mezi půstem a masopustem a také význam stravovacích návyků pro kulturu a společnost. V druhé části práce se věnujeme významu půstu u světových náboženských systémů. V jednotlivých kapitolách rozebereme, jak k půstu přistupuje křesťanství, judaismus, islám, hinduismus a buddhismus. Následně tyto přístupy porovnáme a stanovíme jejich podobnosti a odlišnosti. Cílem bakalářské práce je podat pohled kulturní antropologie na půst, který budeme chápat hlavně jako náboženský fenomén.This bachelor thesis examines the fasting in the context of cultural anthropology. As the basis for this theoretical thesis was used Czech and foreign language´s literature. In first part we explain general meaning of the fasting like religious and cultural phenomenon, we analyze the ways of others science approach, mainly the historical anthropology and the religious anthropology. In this part we explain historical-anthropological differences and connections between the fasting and the carnival; we also evaluate the sense of the eating habits for culture and society. Second part of thesis pursues the meaning of fasting at worldwide religious system. Particular chapters describe the approach of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism. The comparison and the evaluation of particular religious approaches follow. The target of this bachelor thesis is presentation of complex view of the cultural anthropology of the fasting, which we comprehend like the religious phenomenon.
