K posuzování míry integrace protagonistů ve společnosti slouží mytologický přístup literární kritiky. Práce sleduje průběh putování dobrodružstvím jednotlivých protagonistů, jejich odloučení, hledání vlastní identity, iniciaci a návrat zpět do společnosti.. -- Abstract: This thesis is focused upon social isolation and integration of Native American protagonists in selected novels. The key concept which is used to describe their position in the society is the similarity of their adventures with classical mythic structures. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the protagonists' departure from the society, finding their identity, their initiation and return.
