Bakalářská práce ukazuje na místa v Augustinových Vyznáních, která se týkají hledání Boha a obrácením se k Bohu. Snaží se vysvětlit souvislosti mezi nimi navzájem a zároveň objevit spojnice s Augustinovou teologií a filosofií. Jsou zde uvedena základní životopisná data sv. Augustina, autora Vyznání a některé jeho filosofické a teologické myšlenky související s Boží milostí a obrácením. Práce ukazuje postupnou přeměnu Augustinova pojetí Boha od jeho četby Hortensia v raném věku, přes jeho období manicheismu, novoplatonismu, až po apoštola Pavla.The bachelor thesis points to some places in Augustine´s Confession relating to his searching of God and his having recourse to God. The work tries to explain the connection between them and simultaneously to discover connections with Augus-tine´s theology and philosophy. In the thesis there are given some basic biographical data of St. Augustine, author of the Confession, and some of his philosophical and theological ideas related to God´s grace and conversion. The work shows the gradual transformation of the Augustine´s concept of God from his reading the Hortensius at the early age, through his period of Manichaeism, Neo-Platonism and up to Paul the Apostle.
