Zároveň se v kontextu těchto kapitol věnuje kulturnímu a sociálnímu působení podnikatelské rodiny Hückelů, jako nejvýznamnějších reprezentantů Nového Jičína.. -- Abstract: Nový Jičín at the end of the 19th century was struggling with many issues. The biggest one was concerning nationalism. The other issues were concerning the social problems, solved either by the municipal council or charity organizations and building of the labour movement. The town was also very important cultural centre with many clubs and famous artists, and scientists who were born in or came to Nový Jičín. The results of scientific and technical progress were also used for the public welfare. And with the women slowly entering the public sphere at the end of the 19th century became the presence of the female element in the life of this town more visible. Thus the town Nový Jičín was at the end of the 19th and the beginning of 20th century cultural and industrial centre of the region Kravařsko.
