Bakalářská práce pojednává o sikhské komunitě ve Velké Británii, konkrétně o komunitě afghánských sikhů v Londýně. Práce je rozčleněna do dvou rovin, na část teoretickou a část empirickou. Část teoretická je především úvodem do sikhismu. Zahrnuje historický exkurz, náboženské pilíře sikhismus a některé z důležitých prvků sikhské společnosti. Dále se věnuje tématu afghánských sikhů, jejich původu, migraci do Velké Británie a jejich současné situaci v Afghánistánu. Empirickou částí této práce je můj vlastní kvalitativní výzkum komunity afghánských sikhů v Londýně. Ten vznikl na základě rozhovorů s členy této komunity, po kterých následovala analýza a interpretace dat. Kvalitativní výzkum je zaměřen především na popis komunity, zahrnuje původ a migraci afghánských sikhů, náboženské a kulturní tradice a další rysy komunity. Okrajově se také zaměřuje na identitu členů této komunity.The thesis is focussed on the Sikh community in the UK, namely the Afghan Sikh community in London. The work is divided into two levels , the theoretical and the empirical. The theoretical part is mainly an introduction to Sikhism. It includes historical excursion , religious pillars of Sikhism and some of the important elements of the Sikh society. It also focusses on Afghan Sikhs, their origin , migration to the UK and their current situation in Afghanistan. The empirical part of this thesis is then my own qualitative research on Afghan Sikh community in London. It is based on interviews with members of the community, followed by analysis and interpretation of the data. Qualitative research is focused on the community description , which includes the origin and migration of Afghan Sikhs, religious and cultural traditions, and other community features. Marginally also focuses on the identity of the members of this community.
