V úvodu práce jsem se zabývala mytologií a archetypem hrdiny v obecné rovině. Snažila jsem se postihnout základní pojmy a představit uznávané teorie vývoje studia této problematiky z pohledu dnešních antropologů. Opírala jsem se převážně o výzkum Josepha Campbella, který se zabýval archetypem hrdiny a jeho vývojem napříč světovými kulturami a historií velmi podrobně a je autorem zásadní teorie o monomýtu. Výsledky jeho bádání jsem pak použila ke komparaci s prací Ann Birrellové, která je uznávanou odbornicí v oblasti starověké čínské mytologie. V další části jsem si vybrala postavu Guan Gonga, hrdiny a pozdějšího božstva čínské mytologie, abych na tomto konkrétním příkladu demonstrovala obecně platné teorie vylíčené v první části. Zároveň rozebírám tuto postavu z historického hlediska, podrobně se zabývám cestou jeho svatořečení a vývojem jeho kultu v několika rovinách. V závěru práce vše shrnuji v odkazu mytologie pro moderní společnost. Zamýšlím se nad hypotézou do jaké míry dnes mytologie a odkaz hrdinství ovlivňuje čínskou společnost.I researched mythology and hero archetype in general at the beginning of the thesis. I tried to present basic terminology and describe accepted theories of evolution studies of this issue, from the perspective of today´s anthropologists. The thesis is largely based on very extensive research by Joseph Campbell´s archetype of the hero and its evolution across the world´s cultures and history. He is the author of fundamental theory of monomyth. I reached out his research results to study by Ann Birrell, which is a recognized expert in Ancient Chinese Mythology. In the next part of my thesis is demonstrated by the example of Guan Gong, the hero and later the Chinese mythological deity, the validity of the general theory described in previous chapters. In addition, I characterized a person of Guan Gong from historical perspectives, examined the way of his canonization and evolution of his cult from several planes. I summarized the mythology reference for today´s modern society in conclusion of the thesis. I intend the above hypothesis, to what extent, mythology and heroism reference influences Chinese society today.
