The thesis will defend Hume's theory of Bundle theory as the most likely explanation for what personal identity is. It will do so by looking at loose and popular identity set forth by Joseph Butler. In order to illustrate the issues within the topic, the thesis goes into detail criticising the persistence question and aims to show how approaching identity questions from this angle ultimately fails to give a satisfying answer to the question of personal identity.
