Cílem bakalářské práce je provést komparativní analýzu filmu Motýlek z roku 1973 a 2017 od režisérů Franklina J. Schaffnera a Michaela Noera. Práce porovnává snímky rovněž s původní literární předlohou od spisovatele Henriho Charriéra. Výchozími metodologickými texty pro tuto práci jsou studie Novel to Film od Briana McFarlana a Film remakes, adaptation and fan production od Constantina Verevise. Na základě těchto textů jsou snímky a jejich románová předloha analyzovány na rovině narativní struktury a transferu, včetně postav, vypravěče a filmových kódů. Zohledněna je i proměna výše zmíněných funkcí během adaptačního procesu a procesu remaku. Práce jednotlivé prvky postupně srovnává mezi sebou a během tohoto procesu dochází k závěru, že Schaffner se držel původní předlohy mnohem věrněji než Noer, který chtěl vytvořit dílo atraktivnější pro diváka. Během rešerší recenzí ale zjišťuji, že Noerův záměr měl spíše negativní dopad a je kritizován za poškození autentičnosti díla.The aim of this bachelor thesis is to do a comparative analysis of Papillon movie by directors Franklin J. Schaffner and Michael Noer from years 1973 and 2017. This thesis compares both films to a novel written by Henri Charriére. Initial methodological texts for this thesis are studies Novel to Film by Brian McFarlan and Film remakes, adaptation and fan production by Constantin Verevise. Films and the novel are analysed on the basis of those texts on the level of narrative structure and transfer (including characters, narrator and film codes). Change of functions during both adaptation process and remake process was taken into consideration. The thesis compares individual parts among themselves and during this process it comes to the conclusion that Schaffner based his film on the novel more accurately than Noer who wanted to create a more attractive piece of work for the audience. However, throughout the research of reviews I found out that Noer's intention had rather negative effect and it is criticized for authenticity damage of the novel.
