Ačkoliv Západní břeh a pásmo Gazy patří do jednoho státního útvaru, jsou geograficky i politicky rozdělené. Autor se zaměřuje na identifikaci těchto území a hledání rozdílných a společných znaků. V souvislosti s vnitropolitickými problémy Palestinské autonomie se práce zabývá i nekončícím izraelsko-palestinským konfliktem. Autor sleduje geografické, demografické, hospodářské a politické aspekty pásma Gazy a Západního břehu, které následně srovnává a vyvozuje z nich souvislosti. V závěru práce odhaduje možný budoucí vývoj.Although the West Bank and Gaza Strip belong to one state formation, they are geographically and politically separated.
