Tato práce se zabývá rozdílem mezi psaním čárky ve větě v angličtině a v češtině. V teoretické části jsou popsána základní pravidla pro psaní čárky v angličtině a jsou srovnána s českými pravidly. Největší odlišnosti mezi češtinou a angličtinou jsou v psaní čárky mezi větami a před a za příslovečným určením. Právě těmito tématy se zabývá výzkum studentských prací, který je náplní praktické části práce. Na konci jsou shrnuty nejčastější tendence českých studentů v anglické interpunkci a jsou popsána nejproblematičtější témata této oblasti.The thesis deals with the difference of the comma usage in English and Czech. In the theoretical part, the basic English punctuation rules are described and compared to the Czech punctuation rules. The main differences are in the usage of the comma between clauses and with adverbials. The research of students? essays in the practical part of the thesis deals with these issues. In the end, the most common tendencies of Czech students in English punctuation are summarized and the most problematic issues in this area are described.
