The intention of this paper is to analyze particular tendencies which affect the development of Scottish attempts of greater scale of autonomy and introduction of proposals to the future. The first Scotland's demand for greater scale of autonomy goes to the turn end 19th century, when the central government in London attempted to establish British identity over individual identities in historical countries. Scots have never experienced oppression from English and so they integrated into the Britain well and their nationalism never took a violent form. Political parties are essential in autonomic process. Conservative and Labour parties are of course the most significant ones but Scottish National Party is also very important here, because it was SNP who came as first with proposals of devolution and independence. In 1999 Scottish parliament was establish, which has authority in various areas, but principle authorities remain still in hands of Westminster Parliament. Scottish national Party has prepared a proposal for next development in their autonomic efforts, which also includes a possibility of declaring independence. But Scottish voters split in this issue, therefore it is unsure, which direction will the next development go.
